The Origins

     Whatever was left of Petrislav and Wrinvichor's love exploded through and all around them upon their death. Earth and water mixed in the mist created by their erupting bodies blanketing the earth in the smell of dust after rain. Petrislav and Wrinvichor finally created something all their own: petrichor. This new and invigorating scent caused Aether and Blix to stop their fighting and realize what had happened to their sons. In their grief, they decided to cease their fighting between day and night. They came together and created the dusk and dawn by tearing into themselves with the arrow that killed their sons. Joining the day and night and enveloped by the peaceful aroma of their son’s creation, the two goddesses returned to the heavens. This new intoxicating odor was for humanity to enjoy whenever earth and water came together in a loving embrace.
