An Eye for an Eye

Petrislav and Wrinvichor held on to each other as their mothers fought around them. The earth that they had lovingly formed into their tapestry of secret love messages tore apart with each arrow that landed. The two gods squeezed hands and leaned in to kiss. They shared their first kiss and all waters and land masses seized their movement despite the goddesses’ wrath above. Frozen in time, the waters quickly changed forms as Wrinvichor’s emotions bubbled within. The earth under Petrislav’s control contracted and contorted into unnatural forms as his elation rose within. This joy and happiness were short-lived as a stray bolt from one of the mother’s bows pierced the back of Petrislav’s head, through his right eye, and into Wrinvichor’s left eye. The waters and land came to rest into what we know the world today.
